The six working modes of UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply)

2025-06-20

1. Online Mode

· When the input voltage is within the allowable range, the UPS provides a stable pure AC power output. In this mode, the UPS also charges the battery.

2. ECO Mode (Energy-Saving Mode)

· When the input voltage is within the allowable range, the UPS connects the voltage to the output via a bypass to achieve energy-saving purposes.

3. Frequency Conversion Mode

· When the input frequency is within the range of 40Hz to 70Hz, the UPS can stabilize the output frequency at 50Hz to 60Hz as set by the user. In this mode, the UPS still charges the battery.

4. Battery Mode

· When the input voltage is outside the allowable range or the mains power is cut off, the UPS supplies power using battery energy.

5. Bypass Mode

· When the input voltage is within the allowable range but the UPS is overloaded, the UPS will enter bypass mode. It can also be set to bypass mode via the front panel. At this time, an alarm will sound once every 10 seconds.

6. Standby Mode

· The UPS is turned off with no output, but it continues to charge the battery.

Note: Among the six working modes, Online Mode, Battery Mode, and Bypass Mode are the three most critical ones.
